At Couleur we offer a range of classes - from complete-beginner friendly classes to more advanced workshops - to get you started on your printmaking journey.
We believe printmaking is an accessible artform and we pride ourselves in being a gateway into printmaking. If you think you can not draw, printmaking is for you! There is something magical about the printed image, and simple bold designs work fantastically. Come and learn printmaking in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Emilie is a highly experienced teacher and artist, with over 15 years experience teaching art and printmaking. Students praise her engaging pedagogy and accessible workshops.

All classes are for adults (16 years old +)

All materials provided

  • These classes are all accessible to complete beginners :

    • Intro to linocut : print your edition on the traditional press. 3 hours

    • Mini class : intro to linocut and hand printing. 2h

    • Intro to Japanese woodblock and hand printing. 3 hours

    • Stamps and pattern : Create your own series of stamps and modular illustration. 2.5 hours.

    • Ex-libris : create your own personalised book stamp. 2.5 hours

    • Milk carton etching with a pasta maker press : DIY printmaking. 2.5h

    • Textile printmaking : carve a block and print a tote bag. 2.5h

  • Add colours to your prints :

    • Reduction printmaking : a fun technique to add colour with a single block. 3h.

    • Multi plate printmaking : carve multiple plate for a multicolour print. 3h

    • gradient printmaking : an easy technique to turn your print multicolour. 3h

  • Over two days, you will get to learn all the basics to get you started with your printmaking journey : hand printing and printing with the traditional press; carving wood, rubber and lino; printing on paper and textile; and a sound knowledge of all the key principle of relief printmaking. Leave the workshop with 3 editions of prints and the ability to print in autonomy from home. Best way to start your printmaking journey ! 2 days 9:30am to 5pm (Weekends or Friday/Saturday)
